Discounts
We believe theatre should be accessible and affordable for everyone. It’s important to us that we act on that belief and offer multiple discount ticket options for our community.
Pay What You Want Tickets
We offer a Pay-What-You-Want (PWYW) ticket option for the preview performances of every production. PWYW allows you to choose how much you pay for a single ticket. You choose the price of your ticket—whether that’s $5, $100, or anywhere in between.
But did you know? Even at full price ($55, plus $13.55 in fees), ticket sales cover only 60% of what it costs to create the kind of bold, professional theatre you are about to experience. The rest depends on the generosity of audience members like you.
PWYW Previews are typically the first two performances in the run of each production.
The 5% Arts and Culture fee is added to every purchase.
PWYW tickets can be purchased the day of the performance, starting two hours prior to the show in-person at the Riffe Center Studios located at 77 S High St, 43215.
Student Rush Tickets
Student Rush tickets are available with a valid student ID for $20 at the theatre starting two hours before show time.
Ticket Donations
Looking for ticket donations from The Contemporary Theatre of Ohio for your organization’s event, raffle, or gift basket? Contact Alexa Baker at abaker@thecontemporaryohio.org.
Columbus Arts & Cultural Fee
All ticketed events taking place in the City of Columbus are subject to the 5% Columbus Arts & Culture Fee, this may already be included in the cost of the ticket. This fee helps make the arts available to all by funding exemplary artists, arts organizations, and programs that educate and engage audiences throughout Greater Columbus.
The Contemporary's ticket prices also include a small facility fee, since we perform in a CAPA-managed venue.
CAPA Ticket Partnership
Why are tickets sold through CAPA? As a CAPA Resident Organization that primarily performs in CAPA-managed venues, our ticketing is handled by the CAPA ticket center. Any ticket-related questions can be answered by calling the ticket center or visiting the customer care page of the CAPA website.
CAPA is the official ticketing source used by The Contemporary. Tickets from third party re-sellers are not guaranteed to be valid.
